i wanted to share a few things i've picked up recently, some for work and some just because i couldn't pass them up.

new stacks yet to be sorted and a glimpse of the beautiful botanical anatomy poster of mistletoe i got for christmas!

ticker
an entire bankroll ledger book that i already have three of was purchased just to acquire this perfect ticker tape that was tucked inside. they might have let me just have it if i had asked but i'm normally too chicken and i always have this feeling of things "going" together so they can't be broken up. like if i'm flipping through an old book and find a letter or a picture then those things should stay with that book. i'll get over it one day.

websters

gorgeous webster's dictionary with a leather cover. the first few pages are missing where i might find a date but there is a school book plate in the inner cover dated 1905.

  3. Wow, those are lovely. And, I do the same thing. Buying things to get what's inside. It just seems right. And old books often have treasures tucked deep inside.
    Love your work,
    Cheers,

  5. my favorite part of old books are the front pages where people write their names & I love discovering old book marks, margin notes, and pressed flowers. great finds!
