happy new year's eve! and a very late happy holidays, in general. we're staying in tonight, away from the cold rain and closer to the leftover christmas booze and a new turntable, so i've been reminiscing over the absolute perfection of last new year's eve. great music. the perfect location. stuffed unicorns fetuses flying above our heads. threatening war veterans and impromptu marriage proposals from strangers (politely turned down). and kellis vonandelheim.

typing that out and reading it back to myself takes all of the magic away. but hearing it from his mouth makes my eyes glaze over with wonder for such a simple luxury. i'm a big fan of the moth podcast (they will soon have a story hour) and listen to it as i work every week, every time i can get my hands on a new release. you can listen to edgar oliver's "the apron strings of savannah" here.

i received my copy of rotovision's handmade graphics by anna wray in the mail on friday morning. wow, it's such a great book!
